In 1995, Centex Homes began the development of over 270 acres over six phases. The 270 plus acre subdivision known as Glenn Lakes. The area tucked between two major thoroughfares of 53rd Ave W and Cortez Road from 43rd St W westward to 54th St W. Thirteen floor plans offered for 371 home sites. By, 2000 a final phase of land would be developed with 65 single family maintenance style homes. This exclusive area named The Estates at Glenn Lakes offering larger homes on larger lots. The entire area of Glenn Lakes and the Estates at Glenn Lakes was completed in 2001.There are 11 lakes and ponds running through the community. A tennis court and park are available for only Glenn Lakes residents and a small park is situated in an area so just The Estates at Glenn Lakes Homeowners. These are two separate deed restricted subdivisions each overseen by a Board of Directors and Management Companies.

Glenn Lakes and The Estates at Glenn Lakes are two separate deed restricted homeowner association communities. Meaning, There are restrictions set in place for both communities that all homeowners upon purchasing or renting a home are required to follow. These restrictions are set in place and registered and filed with the State of Florida.
